Chairman of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) Mohamed Umar Manik (MU Manik) has resigned.
Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) said that Umar Manik had tendered his resignation on January 28.
The board received the resignation letter last Thursday.
As per PCB, Umar Manik made the decision to resign due to health reasons, which he said hinders him from fulfilling the responsibilities of the post to the fullest.
MU Manik has served on MACL's board since 2013. He later served as the company's Chairman.
MU Manik is a highly experienced and respected pioneer of the Maldives' tourism industry.
While he has resigned from the MACL Board, he is co-founder and Chairman of Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI).
