The highly anticipated "Dhiraagu Road Race," a prominent marathon organised by Dhiraagu, is scheduled to take place on October 27 year.

During a press conference held at Dhiraagu, Mohamed Mirshan Hassan, the Director of Brand and Marketing Communications said that the event will feature more substantial cash prizes in addition to the introduction of a half marathon category and array of activities.

Mirshan said that the race is positioned as a unique international event within the country, aiming to unite individuals and communities across the nation.

Participants have the opportunity to register for the race until August 30.

Listed on the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIIMS) World Running Calendar, the race boasts a World Athletics Certified Race Route.

Dhiraagu has dedicated this event to championing child protection, a significant focus of their corporate social responsibility program. Partnering with NGOs invested in child protection, the marathon serves as a platform for raising awareness and generating funds.

Dhiraagu is set to extend financial support to the top five organizations with the highest count of nominations for participants in the run. This initiative aims to aid these organizations in launching their intended activities.

Dhiraagu also announced that a sum of MVR 100 from every participant's registration, as well as the entire proceeds from the sale of specially designated bib numbers, will be equally donated to the endorsed organizations.

The application process for the race has opened today.
