Two individuals were injured after bags of flour, which were stacked inside the State Trading Organization's (STO) staple foods warehouse, fell on them.

An official from STO said that two expatriate laborers working at the warehouse were injured in the incident. They were immediately transported to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for medical attention, he said.

According to their medical check-ups so far, the two did not suffer any severe injuries or concussions.

The official noted that the bags fell because they were not stacked in a palletized manner.

"Now, most of the rice and sugar stored in the warehouse are palletized. We are also in the process of palletizing the flour warehouses, to ensure safety of workers" he said.
