Outrigger to buy Maafushivaru Resort

Outrigger Hotels and Resorts has confirmed its decision to purchase Maafushivaru Maldives Resort from its current proprietor.

The LTI Maafushivaru is currently a part of the LTI Hotels brand of Germany's DER Touristik; which itself part of the Revisionsverband der Westkauf cooperations or more formally known as REWE Group.

After making the acquisition, Outrigger will reportedly rename the resort property to reflect its expanding hotelier chain.

The LTI Maafushivaru will become renamed as Outrigger Maldives Maafushivaru.

The property was initially developed by Paradise Resorts Development and Management Private Limited, which had a major renovation after the 2020 pandemic resulted in a forced closure.
