Maafushivaru Maldives resort of Alif Dhaalu atoll operating under the LTI Hotels branding of Da Touristic Company of REWE Group, Germany is to be sold.

The tourism ministry has made the announcement regarding the sale of the resort. The Ministry said that if there is a debt or issue with any party related to the resort, it should be notified within 14 days from notice (March 13,2022).

Maafushivaru was developed by Paradise Resorts Development and Management Private Limited. The resort reopened in July 2020 after its closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The resort was reopened after major renovations.

The changes brought during the renovations caused significant environmental damages which led to the the resort being fined. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) fined the resort by MVR 402,500.

Maafushivaru has 81 rooms with beach villas and pool villas.

Although the resort has been put up for sale, a price have yet to be disclosed.
