Visit Maldives welcomes Middle Eastern team for first FAM trip in 2021

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) revealed that on Monday, Visit Maldives welcomed a media team from the Middle East for the first familiarization trip of 2021.

According to the statement given by MMPRC, this media team will promote Maldives throughout the Middle East both the online and in print form alongside social media coverage.

The team will promote the unique Maldivian experience with a specific focus on family, safety and affordability.

Furthermore, the safety measures taken in Maldives to ensure the safety of travelers from COVID-19 will be highlighted as per MMPRC.

The media team from Middle East includes participants for leading publications region including Savoir Flair, The National, Millennium Millionaire and Fact Abu Dhabi.

Participants of the trip are hosted by both Grand Park Kodhipparu and Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort and Spa and will spend six in Maldives. They will experience a range of activities including family activities, wellness activities, sustainable initiatives implemented by the properties, tasting signature cuisines, snorkelling, water sports.

Visit Maldives predicted that the content promoted via this FAM trip will be circulated physically more than 95,000 times, and would garner an online reach of over 3.7 million.

As per MMPRC, a variety of promotions targeted at Middle East have already been scheduled with an aim to reach pre-pandemic arrival numbers.

In 2020, Maldives recorded 26,288 tourists arrivals from the Middle Eastern market. This is a notable drop from 2019’s value of 60,003 due to the travel restrictions implemented in order to contain COVID-19.
