Procurement Board formulates regulatory framework

The Ministry of Finance, on Wednesday, announced the formulation of the Procurement Policy Board' regulatory framework.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on February 23, established the seven-member board under a presidential decree, to further strengthen the public procurement structure and bring about procurement-related policy-level changes.

According to the framework, the board is tasked with ensuring economic efficiency of government procurements, review and assess services in-comparison with the invested amount, and further increase transparency within the tender process.

Moreover, board members will be assigned a three-year term before members are reappointed.

The Procurement Policy Board is one out of four Statutory Boards monitored by the Ministry of Finance.

- Board Member: Minister of State for National Planning and Infrastructure Shifaz Ali
