Bank of Maldives (BML), on Monday, announced plans to install new ATMs in the islands of Kendhikulhudhoo, Guraidhoo, Thoddoo and Thimarafushi which are located in Noonu Atoll, Kaafu Atoll, Alif Alif Atoll and Thaa Atoll, respectively.

According to BML, the installations would be part of a wider network expansion plan involving the establishment of additional self-service ATMs and the introduction of other banking services in the coming months.

In addition to cash withdrawal facilities, new ATMs will facilitate deposit and transfer services for local individuals and businesses on a 24-hour basis. The ATMs will also be equipped with the latest security features to ensure customers' safety and security.

"As part of a financial inclusion strategy, we continue to make significant investments to provide modern banking solutions across the country", stated BML’s CEO and Managing Director Tim Sawyer.

"While we did face logistical challenges due to COVID, we have now received the ATMs and are in the process of transporting and installing these in the respective locations. We look forward to completing the work over the next few weeks".

BML manages a network of 38 branches across all 20 atolls, 55 self-service banking centres, 116 ATMs, 277 agents and a full suite of digital banking services.

The bank reiterated its commitment to supporting individuals, businesses and communities across Maldives.
