Bank of Maldives (BML) announced certain essential services will be provided to customers on April 27 and 29.

In a press release, the bank declared that the following services will be provided between 0930 - 1200 hrs:

International Transfers (TTs)

BML requests that customers email the completed TT Application Form with relevant supporting documents to:

[email protected]

If not, the bank advises customers to submit a request for TTs through internet banking.

Requests received by 1100 hrs will be processed on the same day.

Payroll Processing

BML stated that payroll requests will be accepted via email. Customers can find details of required documents at:

TTs and payroll requests from BML accounts submitted prior to 1100 hrs will be processed on the same day, while payroll requests from other bank accounts will be processed on the same day if submitted before 1000 hrs.

ATM Cheque Processing

The bank stated that all clearing cheques deposited to ATMs will be cleared on the following working day.

However, BML cheques deposited before 1130 hrs will be processed on the same day.

Local bank transfers

BML will process ACH requests, submitted via internet banking, by 1000 hrs on the same day.

All RTGS (transfers above MVR 100,000) received through internet banking, and MRTGS requests received by email, will be processed the same day if submitted before 1130 hrs.

BML further noted that although the bank will not provide cash services at its branches, any customers who have received the required permission from authorities to leave their residences during lockdown, can withdraw and deposit cash at ATMs. BML's daily deposit limit is MVR 200,000 for businesses and MVR 50,000 for individuals.

Noting that all branches and service centres remain closed, BML encouraged its customers to bank from home during the ongoing lockdown.
