Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) announced on Tuesday that their recorded revenue for the month of February amounted to MVR 1.4 billion.
As per official statistics from MIRA, revenue for February increased by 12 percent from last year's records, which is a two percent increase from its projected income for the month.
According to MIRA, the increase in income from airport development charges, airport service charges and Business Profit Tax (BPT) accounted for the increase in total revenue for the month.
The highest revenue in February was recorded from Goods and Services Tax (GST) with MVR 623 million, followed by Business Profit Tax (BPT) with MVR 412 million collected.
Records show that MVR 882 million in receipts were received in US Dollars, amounting to a total of USD 57.2 million.
