The Board of Directors of telecommunications giant, Ooredoo Maldives, approved to recommend a dividend of MVR 3.30 per share for the year 2019.
In a statement released late Tuesday, Ooredoo revealed that the Board passed the resolution during a sit-down held on February 3.
The recommended dividend will be proposed at Ooredoo Maldives' Annual General Meeting, to be held March 2020, for shareholder approval. All shareholders of Ooredoo Maldives that register before February 16 will receive the dividend.
Ooredoo added that the Notice and Agenda of its AGM will be published on its website, www.ooredoo.mv/investors/, by February 16, along with other relevant documents.
The telecom company recorded a profit of MVR 588 million last year, a 10 percent spike compared to the net profit of MVR 525 million in 2018.
Ooredoo distributed 85 percent of its profits as dividend in 2019, at a rate of MVR 3.20 per share.
