BML donates to children's park in Kihaadhoo, Baa Atoll

Bank of Maldives (BML), made donations to the children's park in Kihaadhoo, Baa Atoll under their 'Aharenge Bank Community Fund'.

In addition to installing playground equipment, BML also equipped the park with with solar powered lights to ensure that it operates in an environment-friendly manner. The children's park is one of the five projects chosen for the second quarter.

The park was initially established by the Kihaadhoo Island Council and the Kihaadhoo Development Society.

"We receive great satisfaction from furthering the progress of such projects across Maldives which are stalled due to financial difficulties. The bank's aim is to successfully complete projects in islands which contribute to development through the community fund", stated BML's Manager of Public Relations Mohamed Saeed.

"This park will become a considerable gift to the children of this island", said Ibrahim Waseem from the Kihaadhoo Development Society. He revealed that BML's assistance had enabled them to open the park, following certain financial issues.

'Aharenge Bank Community Fund' was launched to provide sustainable aid to projects underway in islands across Maldives. The program provides MVR 50,000 to five best projects selected in each quarter of the year from those proposed. It aims to fund non-profit work including educational and sporting activities as well as environmental preservation efforts.
