Bank of Maldives (BML), on Tuesday, established their first Business Centre in capital city Male'.
The centre, which provides support for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), was inaugurated by Minister of Economic Development Fayyaz Ismail.
According to BML, SMEs can get assistance from Relationship Managers at the Business Centre for various business banking and advisory services, such as applications for loans and credit facilities, and merchant services including POS and Payment Gateway.
With a loan portfolio of over MVR 800 million comprising over 1,300 small businesses, "the new business centre will serve as a dedicated outlet to provide these business easy access to expert advice for all their financial needs", said BML's CEO and Managing Director Tim Sawyer.
BML also revealed plans to open centres in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale’ in Kaafu Atoll, and Kulhudhuffushi, Haa Dhaalu Atoll.
The national bank of Maldives aims to support individuals, SMEs and other community initiatives with their nationwide network of branches, relationship managers, self-service banking centres, ATMs, point of sale merchants and agents across 20 atolls, complemented by digital banking services.
