A group of 45 Ukranian nationals with considerable social media influence arrive to promote Maldives as a tourist destination.
The group, invited by Resort Life Travel Pvt Ltd, will spend their holiday in Kandima Maldives and Hotel Riu Palace Maldivas.
Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Company (MMPRC) also invited magazine representatives, journalists, bloggers and social media activists to Maldives for familiarisation trips in 2018.
MMPRC Managing Director Thoyyib Mohamed welcomed the influencers at Velana International Airport (VIA).
He stated that MMPRC had always supported advertising efforts initiated by private companies, revealing that such activities had positively impacted the tourism industry.
Thoyyib remarked that familiarisation trips and other similar activities conducted in the past had resulted in increased tourist arrivals from targeted markets.
According to statistics, 7,623 Ukraninan tourists have visited Maldives in 2019 till date. The figure represents a 12.6 increase compared to the same period in 2018.
