Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) hosted a promotional debut of its serialised roadshow, 'Journey to the Sunny Side', in Switzerland.
The roadshow was held at three prominent cities Basel, Zurich and Geneva between August 19- 21, marking the fifth event in the series.
Six active companies in the tourism sector partook in the road show.
According to MMPRC, the purpose of the roadshow is to promote and represent Maldives as a tourist destination to a wider Swiss market.
Alike the previous iterations of the roadshow, participants from the Maldivian industry was presented with a platform to connect and network with Swiss tour operators to further market their products.
A raffle draw was held to select a winner from each of the cities to spend a luxury holiday in Maldives sponsored by Lux* North Male' Atoll, Lux* South Ari Atoll and You and Me by Cocoon Maldives.
There was a 2.9 percent increase in the influx of Swiss tourist arrivals to Maldives from January- August 2018 and the same duration this year.
While MMPRC is currently working to encourage and promote Maldives' tourism in Switzerland, estimates predict much higher figures in the upcoming years.
MMPRC stated that the Journey to the Sunny Side roadshow is receiving the support and cooperation of tourism companies.
