The Maldivian leg of AngelHack 2019 concluded on Tuesday with Team Staylight winning first place in the hackathon organised by telecommunications giant Dhiraagu, Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) and Sparkhub.
Staylight won the hackathon for their innovative prototype created with a pay-by-installation model for accommodation.
Having won the hackathon, Team Staylight won the opportunity to partake in the international virtual pre-accelerator program, HACKcelerator. Under HACKcelerator they will be able to attain aid from international mentors from America's Silicon Valley, and pave the way to convert projects and ideas into quality startup businesses.
Staylight stated that work on the instalment payment prototype was underway for a long time prior. Team Staylight further said that they were able to unveil the prototype to the international audience as a result of AngelHack, and that the hackathon gave them the opportunity to showcase their talent.
The second AngelHack hackathon took place with 10 teams taking part, with the purpose of cultivating a startup culture amongst youth and to allow opportunity to discover innovative digital solutions.
