Global brand InterContinental's first property in Maldives, Maamunagau Resort in Raa Atoll, is gearing up for a grand opening in September.
The resort is located 35-minutes away from Velana International Airport via seaplane.
It will feature a total of 81 beach, lagoon and over-water villas furnished with private terraces and pools.
Maamunagau markets itself as a family-friendly resort, offering a full-service kids’ club in addition to glamorous over-water spa villas.
As the resort is close to Hanifaru Bay, a world-famous aggregation site for Manta Rays and Whale Sharks, visitors will be provided with the opportunity to snorkel and experience these unique creatures up-close.
The resort has also established a partnership with Maldives-based conservation project Manta Trust to help protect Manta Rays in the area.
