Local telecommunications giant Dhiraagu is organizing a bike race for children in association with Bike Maldives.
The race named 'Mamen Inter School Bike Championship' will be held on the bike track in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale' from April 26 - 27.
On April 26, the event will be held from 0700 to 0900 hrs. Meanwhile, on April 27, the event starts at 0700 hrs and goes on till 1600 hrs.
This is the second year Bike Maldives and Dhiraagu have teamed up to host a bike race for children.
In this year's race, 515 children will take part from 16 schools.
Additionally, this year's event will also feature 25 different types of races with three different age categories: under 14, under 16 and under 18. For each age group, girls and boys will have separate races.
Moreover, a special bicycle race, 'Fun Ride' for children under 12 years, will be held.
With these events, Dhiraagu aims to promote environmentally friendly and healthy habits among children with the help of Bike Maldives.
