WAMCO’s services will now be billed only to registered customers in the islands.
Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has reversed its decision to include waste collection fees in electricity bills in islands.
WAMCO had earlier decided to integrate garbage collection charges into utility bills starting this year.
However, WAMCO in a post on social media last night said that the decision had been changed following advice from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
Under the revised plan, WAMCO’s services will now be billed only to registered customers in the islands.
The company also said that customers can make payments at WAMCO offices on the islands or via their Avas Pay portal.
