Ibrahim Ikram has pled guilty to all charges pressed against him in relation to an accident involving a car he had been driving at the time.

In July, a speeding sports car driven by Ikram had lost control and crashed into a motorcycle stopped at the side of the road, resulting in the man on the motorcycle sustaining serious injuries.

In the case, Police arrested the driver of the car, Ibrahim Ikram, M. Land of Garden, and two passengers Ikramurahman, H. Nooranmaage Aage, and Jinah Ismail, Aazaadhuge, Gaafu Alif atoll Kan'duhulhudhoo. The car was under the possession of Jinah.

In a hearing today at the Criminal Court, the State announced charges against all three.

Ikram's lawyer responded that he pleads guilty, and has communicated to the State that he wishes to enter a plea bargain.

State prosecutor confirmed this, saying that efforts are ongoing to draft the agreement.

Although Ikram's lawyer requested to hold back on responding to the charges until the plea bargain is confirmed, Judge Ali Nadheem instructed to respond in today's hearing. The lawyer then stated that Ikram pleads guilty to all six charges.

Ikram is being charged with causing injury, presenting danger to an individual through an act of negligence, two charges of damage to property, failing to report an accident and failing to assist a person in need without justifiable reason.

Jinah, meanwhile, rejected the charges raised against him. He said that he had not left the scene after the accident, and that he had cooperated with police. Jinah further said that he had offered to assist with the expenses for treatment to injuries sustained and damage to property.

Jinah had four charges raised against him: involvement in causing injury, involvement in presenting danger to an individual through an act of negligence and two charges of damage to property.

Ikramurahman, who was also in the car at the time of the accident, pleaded not guilty on all charges. His lawyer said that he had not done any of the actions he was being charged with.

Ikramurahman was charged with involvement in causing injury, involvement in presenting danger to an individual through an act of negligence, failing to assist a person in need without justifiable reason and two charges of damage to property.

The State then presented evidence against both.

The State also appealed to the court to claim from the three the expenses incurred by the victim in going abroad for treatment.

All three had been arrested after they had left the scene of the accident.
