DSD wins National Billiard Championship for the second time

DSD won the National Billiard Championship for a second time.

Dhivehi Sifainge Club (DSD) of Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has won this year's National Billiard Championship's team event, after beating Lorenzo Sports Club with 3-2 games last Tuesday night.

This is the second time DSD has claimed the championship title since the inception of the tournament in 2021. Their first win was in 2022, after coming out victorious against Club Eagles.

The men's singles championship this year went to Mohamed Dhunyaz, who played against Hussain Fayaz and won 11-7 frames. The females championship was claimed by Aminath Fathi, who faced off against Fageeha Ibrahim and won with a score of 7-5.

Men's doubles championship went to Mohamed Shareef and Mohamed Sameer's pair, who competed against Abdulla Afeef and Ismail Suvaid. Shareef and Sameer won with a close call of 9-8 frames.

The women's doubles title went to Dheena Ahmed and Aishath Yashfa, who won with 7-5 frames against Aishath Ali and Aminath Faathee's pair.

The tournament's mixed doubles championship title went to Hassan Shaaz Mohamed and Aminath Azra. They beat Dheena Ahmed and Mohamed Aksham with another close call of 7-6 frames.
