State Media has announced that they will be bringing back the popular music show 'Voice of Maldives'.
The show was earlier aired when Public Service Media (PSM) was run under the name Maldives National Broadcasting Corporation (MNBC).
Voice of Maldives features aspiring singers from across the Maldives and gained widespread popularity amongst viewers. However, the show was earlier discontinued after only three seasons.
In an event held last night to inaugurate the resumption of the show, the new edition of the show was launched by Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources Ahmed Shiyam.
The video showed at the event said that this program is being brought back to broaden entertainment and to bring back the high spirits such shows raise amongst Maldivians. The show will also prove to be a platform to showcase the talents of artists, it said.
PSM has decided to bring back a number of popular shows back on the TV screens. This includes 'Boduberu Challenge' and 'Maldivian Idol'.
The State media has also introduced 'PSM Lens' - an award to recognize the service of social workers and volunteers.
