Parliamentary Group Leader of ruling People's National Congress (PNC) has dismissed rumours of plans to remove Abdul Raheem Abdulla from his position as Speaker.
"No work is being done to remove the Speaker. There is nothing like that," Falah confirmed to Mihaaru News.
With Abdul Raheem's son, Ibrahim Faisal, being dismissed from his post as Minister of Tourism earlier today, rumours have risen that Abdul Raheem, too, has fallen out of favour and could be removed.
Besides Falah, other PNC members of parliament have also dismissed these as baseless rumours, confirming that no such plans are officially in motion at the time.
In a post on social media X, Abdul Raheem expressed pride in Faisal's service as Tourism Minister, stating he had served with integrity and sincerity, and delivered results.
