eFass has opened up the opportunity for the public to test digital identification on Wednesday.

Before the official launch of digital ID cards, 500 Android users were given the chance to test the product. However, this service is not yet available to the general public.

According to the eFaas Twitter account, the service is now open for trial to iOS users as well, expanding the testing opportunity beyond Android users.

Once this service is launched, it will not be mandatory to carry a physical ID card. The digital ID can be used to access all services that were previously available with the physical ID card. The government plans to offer users the option to print their digital ID card if they prefer to have a physical copy, once the service is officially launched.

Apart from a digital ID card, the Ministry of Communication, Science, and Technology is also working to ensure other important information can be accessible via eFaas as well. This includes some important certificates.

Last Saturday, Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation implemented a new regulation allowing the use of digital ID cards for domestic flights.
