Housing Ministry has said that they have received nearly 700 complaints on flat eligibility list which was published last Thursday.

The window to submit complaints regarding the flat eligibility list was opened on Saturday.

The deadline for submitting complaints is March 31.

A media official from the Housing Ministry told Mihaaru News that 675 complaints have been received so far, including 452 related to the three-bedroom flat list and 223 concerning the two-bedroom flat list.

Those who submitted applications would be able to submit a complaint regarding their application through the Gedhoruveriyaa Portal, the ministry said.

If the complaint is about another person on the list, complaints can be sent in via email or by letter addressed to the ministry. More information on the complaint process will be available by calling 4004911 and 4004910, the ministry said.

In the final list, a total of 1,820 people were declared eligible, out of which 1,423 people would receive three room apartments and 397 applications are to get two room apartments from the first 4,000 flats currently under development in Hulhumale'.

The reviewed list also determined 2,695 applicants as ineligible including 424 people who were bumped down from the original list due to point changes.

The second phase of the project includes 2,750 three-bedroom flats and 1,250 two-bedroom flats, now nearing completion.

'The project is open to individuals who have lived in Male' City for at least 15 years. However, according to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and the Housing Ministry, some applicants submitted false documentation, such as council-issued proof of residence, despite not meeting the residency requirement.
