Male' Police recovered items valued at over MVR 19.2 million from various cases reported last year, according to statistics released by police.
Statistics released today include insight into the activities of Male' Frontline Policing, Thilamale' Police, and Traffic Police and Road Management for 2024.
A total of 1,653 items were recovered, with a combined value of MVR 19,209,665.50.
Among the recovered items were 206 mobile phones worth MVR 1,983,564.79 and 253 motorcycles valued at MVR 11,489,400.
Additionally, 107 electronic items worth MVR 986,843.42 and 333 goods valued at MVR 551,206.62 were recovered. Police also recovered cash amounting to MVR 3,582,837.11 in 374 cases, alongside 380 other items valued at MVR 615,813.56.
Last year, a total of 5,242 cases were filed, including 2,290 incidents of theft and 2,025 road accidents. Other cases included 414 robberies, 236 drug-related offenses, and 358 assaults, police said.
