India has rejected the Washington Post's claims that Maldives' opposition attempted to solicit India's RAW agent assistance to topple the incumbent President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's administration.
In the weekly press conference held by India's Ministry of External Affairs, a reported posed a question regarding this.
The Ministry's Spokesperson Randir Jaiswal responded that the Washington Post and the journalist who wrote the article hold a personal grudge against India.
'Hence, I leave it to you to believe what they are saying. As we see it, there is no trust in things they say," he said.
This is the first time that India has spoken about the report published by the Washington Post. However, the government of Maldives is yet to comment on the matter.
