A man has been arrested for stealing expensive mobile phones from a house in Male' after being found hiding in his closet with a bag over his head to evade authorities.
According to the arrest order, Adam Mohamed,33, from Haa Dhaalu atoll Kulhudhuffushi, broke into the house at night, with CCTV footage capturing him entering, moving around, and stealing two high-end phones.
When police arrived at his residence to apprehend him, Adam attempted to hide inside a closet, covering his head with a black bag.
When he was brought before the court to a decision on his remand, he invoked his right to remain silent, stating, "Please hurry up... will use my right to remain silent," and provided no defense.
The court has remanded Adam in custody for 15 days.
