MP of Maamigili constituency Qasim Ibrahim, who has held the seat for multiple terms over the years and is from the island himself, has welcomed Speaker of Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdulla to Maamigili.
MP of Maamigili constituency Qasim Ibrahim, who has held the seat for multiple terms over the years and is from the island himself, has welcomed Speaker of Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdulla to Maamigili.
Abdul Raheem and his wife travelled to Maamigili on Qasim's invitation, and were received with a red carpet honour. Along with Qasim, senior officials and other employees of Maamigili Airport, members of Jumhooree Party (JP) - which was founded by Qasim - and locals of the island were present at the airport to welcome the Speaker.
However, it is yet unclear what the occasion of this visit is. The Parliament has also not commented on the matter yet.
