Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has decided to hold a major rally on January 31.
The motion to hold the rally was passed in last night's National Council meeting of the party, Mihaaru News reports.
MDP also held a rally at the Carnival area last month titled 'In defence of the Constitution'.
A party official said that this month's rally also falls under this initiative.
MDP started activities under 'In defence of the Constitution' after the parliament, with a ruling People's National Congress (PNC) super majority, passed several amendments to the Constitution in a single day.
There has been heavy criticism against the government and PNC following this.
