Road Development Corporation, in a post on X, announced the commencement of construction on segments 12 and 13 of Ameenee Magu. The construction work, which had been halted for several days, resumed today. The pause was initiated in anticipation of the September elections following asphalt laying on the road between Ameenee Magu and Izzudheen Magu.
To facilitate the resumption of work, police have made adjustments to traffic in the area. Recognizing the congestion in this part of Ameenee Magu, the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure conducted a special consultation meeting with RDC to ensure minimal disruption to the public.
Ameenee Magu road development commenced in early July last year, with a budget of MVR 84 million from the state. Although initiated in October last year, the project aimed for completion by September under the previous government, a target that could not be met.
