The ATM services were inaugurated by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu in a special ceremony held at the island today.
The ATM offers cash withdrawals, deposits, money transfers, and accepts payments for cards and loans. With this ATM, BML customers on the island now have access to banking services around the clock.
At the ceremony, BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef said that the placement of this ATM is under the bank's initiative to offer ATM services across the country. He said that this would resolve the banking difficulties faced by residents on the island.
Bank of Maldives currently provides service in 20 atolls with 39 branches, 95 self service banking centres, 153 ATMs, agent banking and online banking services.
The bank also recently announced that all their banking services would be made available online for Ramadan this year.
