Crown & Champa Resorts has appointed Mohamed Solah as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), marking the first time a Maldivian has held the top position at a major tourism industry company in the Maldives.
Solah, previously the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Crown & Champa Resorts, stepped into the role at one of the country’s wealthiest companies, with a portfolio of nine resorts and city hotels. Until now, both CEO and COO positions had been held by foreigners.
Solah entered the tourism industry at 21 years of age and has 20 years of experience.
He began his career as a telephone operator at Meerufenfushi Resort, advancing through various roles before studying abroad when the opportunity arose.
