The win marks Kudahuvadhoo’s first win after a streak of 15 consecutive losses.
Both teams entered the match having lost their previous games, Fares-Maathodaa lost to Dhaalu atoll Meedhoo, while Kudahuvadhoo lost to Fuvahmulah City in the tournament opener.
Kudahuvadhoo’s last win at Galolhu Stadium was during the 2017 Minivan Championship final, where they defeated Gaafu Dhaalu atoll Thinadhoo to claim the title. That victory led them to the top four of the Minivan Championship and earned them a spot in the Dhivehi Premier League. However, during the Premier League the team struggled, with no wins across 14 matches, four draws, and 11 losses.
In yesterday's match, Kudahuvadhoo’s Mohamed Zihan Hassan scored two goals to secure the team’s lead. He netted the first goal early in the second half and added a second in the 63rd minute. The third goal came from an own goal by Fares-Maathodaa as they attempted to block a pass from Zihan.
