Action to be taken against foreigners who caused disturbance in Artificial Beach

Maldives Immigration is investigating an incident involving foreign nationals who caused a disturbance at Artificial Beach in Male' last night.

A group of Indian nationals allegedly quarreled and attacked each other, disrupting the peace in the area.

The altercation reportedly escalated when one individual accidentally struck a child present at the scene. The child’s parent expressed dissatisfaction and reported the matter to the police.

However, by the time authorities arrived, the individuals involved in the commotion had already fled the scene.

Immigration Controller Mohamed Shamaan said that the task force is investigating the incident and assured the public that appropriate action will be taken against those involved.

“Action will be taken against the foreigners who disrupted the peace at Artificial Beach,” Shamaan stated.

Fridays often see large crowds gathering at public places in Male', including Artificial Beach. Parents have previously raised concerns about rising incidents of disturbances and reports addicts in the area.
