The tournament, titled Bhutan T20 International Quadrangular Series, is currently ongoing in Bhutan.
Maldives made it to the finals through winning the semi final match played against Bhutan yesterday with seven wickets.
Maldives will face off against Thailand in the finals.
In the second semifinals match played yesterday, Thailand won against Indonesia.
After the win against Bhutan, Maldives' Coach Ismail Nihad said that Maldives had been aiming to play in cricket finals for fourteen long years.
"We have been hoping for this since 2010. Thanks be to God, we have achieved this now. We will work hard to win the final match as well," Nihad said.
Nihad expressed concern that even while having reached the finals, Maldives' performance remains lacking in power play.
He said that in the semifinal match against Bhutan, the biggest priority had been given to improving power play.
Nihad said that although the Bhutan match had started out well, the win had been received through the good performance of those who spin.
"We played all the overs of the match very well. We thank Allah for this win," he said.
The final match is scheduled for Friday.
