Haleem said that Dharumavantha Hospital's 17th floor has six delivery suites and an NICU, the 18th and 19th floors have 14 rooms, the 21st floor is used for administrative work, and the 22nd floor has a dedicated fertility centre, he said.
Dharumavantha Hospital was neglected when this government took office, and that situation has been changed by this government, the hospital’s CEO, Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem, said last night.
Speaking at the official opening ceremony of the hospital after six years of operation, Haleem said the condition of the hospital was difficult to imagine when this government started.
"The temperature monitoring system of the building was in an unusable condition due lack of maintenance. Hospital services were being provided at different times in different areas, and different floors had different temperatures at different times," Haleem said.
"As a result, many expensive pieces of equipment in the building had been damaged beyond repair, and many floors had been left unused and used as storage spaces", he said.
The machines in the hybrid cath lab were also in disrepair due to lack of maintenance, but now that situation has changed, and what we see now is very different, he said.
He said the refrigeration system issues have been resolved, services can be provided in accordance with standard procedures, and the hybrid cath lab has been replaced.
Haleem said that the floors from the 17th to the 22nd floor of the hospital, which were previously unused and turned into storerooms, have now been put into use. The 17th floor has six delivery suites and an NICU, the 18th and 19th floors have 14 rooms, the 21st floor is used for administrative work, and the 22nd floor has a dedicated fertility centre, he said.
The hospital was opened last night as the official government hospital equipped with all tertiary services.
