An official from FAM confirmed that Nahil's resignation letter has been received and that FIFA has already been informed of his decision.
Nahil Ahmed Siddeeq has resigned from his position as General Secretary of the Football Association of Maldives (FAM).
Nahil was appointed to the top administrative role in mid-November last year, making him the youngest person to hold the position at just 25 years old.
However, less than three months into his tenure, he has stepped down without stating a specific reason.
An official from FAM confirmed that Nahil's resignation letter has been received and that FIFA has already been informed of his decision.
Before taking on the role of General Secretary, Nahil served as the Senior Political Director at the Ministry of Sports. He had previously held various positions within FAM, first joining as an intern in February 2017.
He officially became part of FAM in January 2022, working as a competition officer before being promoted to acting head of the competition department.
Nahil left FAM in February last year to join the Sports Ministry but later returned to take on the General Secretary role.
