MTCC completes 90 projects in 3 years

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has successfully completed a total of 93 infrastructural and urban development projects in the past three years, across the country.

The company's Chief Executive Officer Adam Azim confirmed this while he added the contracting company was currently engaged in a total of 110 ongoing projects.

MTCC CEO made the remarks at the closing ceremony of Dhiggaru shore protection project on Saturday, August 27. Azim had highlighted one of the company's most ambitious projects so far; the integrated high-speed ferry network connecting all residential islands of the Maldives.

The ferry network, now dubbed 'Raajje-Transport Link' (RTL) is carried out by MTCC in collaboration with Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (MNPHI). MTCC is assisted by other relevant government authorities and bodies in the effort.

MTCC executed shore protection of Dhiggaru to avail excessive soil erosion. Speaking about the project Mr. Azim confirms sand filling efforts have reclaimed over 3 hectares of land area.

The project cost MVR 27 million, while project aspects apart from beach filling included breakwater and revetment construction.
