In a social media post, Malé City Council expressed concern over walls along some roads being torn down without prior approval. Instead, the council requested that wall demolitions be carried out within the set regulations, and authorisation.
Non compliance with this notice would be met with penalties, the council warned.
This comes after a sinkhole developed within a residential home that was next to a construction site of a building.
