More than 2,000 people attended the "Bingaa Maahefun" event organized by Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) on Friday, celebrating financial literacy and responsible saving habits for children.

The event featured a variety of engaging activities, including special sessions for customers with MIB's "Bingaa" accounts. Children enjoyed interactive entertainment such as a bouncing castle, balloon house, Transformers character appearances, and various games.

During the evening session, religious scholar Dr Ibrahim Zakariyya Moosa shared a moral story with children and conducted a special Q&A session addressing religious queries.

Additionally, fitness instructor Aishath Shifana Wajeeh led an evening session focused on fitness awareness.

MIB’s "Bingaa" account is an innovative initiative aimed at instilling financial responsibility in children. The account offers three distinct options. The Bingaa Transaction Account is designed for young users familiar with digital tools, providing them with a cash card and internet banking access from age seven.

The Bingaa Savings Account encourages short-term savings, fostering financial discipline from an early age. The Bingaa Invest Account is a long-term savings account that helps children plan for future expenses such as higher education or home ownership, accessible when they turn 18.

MIB stated that events like Maahefun play a key role in promoting financial responsibility among children, ensuring they develop smart money habits for the future.
