The final matches of the tournament will take place today.
Maldivian sisters Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq and Fathimath Nabaha Abdul Razzaq have advanced to the singles final of the Botswana International Series badminton tournament.
Both players secured victories in their semi final matches. Nabaha defeated Azerbaijan's Hajar Nariyeva in straight sets, 21-15, 21-15. Nabeeha, won against Era Maftuha, also from Azerbaijan 21-12, 20-22, and 21-8.
Representing Revival Sports, their achievement marks a historic milestone for Maldivian badminton, as this is the first time two Maldivian athletes have reached the singles final of a tournament recognized by the Badminton World Federation (BWF).
Additionally, Nabaha has reached the mixed doubles final alongside Zayan Zaki. The pair defeated Azerbaijan's Hajar Nariyeva and Jahid Alihasanov in the semi finals with a straight-sets victory of 21-13, 21-18.
They will face Era Maftuha and Agil Gabilov, also from Azerbaijan, in the final.
