A Maldivian who travelled to Mecca for the Hajj pilgrimage this year, has passed away.
The deceased is Fathimath Hafeeza, aged 80 years, of Raa atoll Hulhudhuhfaaru.
Ministry of Islamic Affairs said that Hafeeza had passed away last night. The funeral prayers will be held at Masjid Al Haram after the Dhuhr (afternoon) prayers.
Hafeeza travelled to Mecca with a sibling and one of her children.
This year, 1150 persons travelled from Maldives to perform Hajj. Hajj Day this year falls on June 15, Saturday.
