Saeed appointed as PSM MD after Zeena resigns

Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has last night appointed Mohamed Saeed as the Managing Director of Public Service Media (PSM).

The appointment came in the wake of former MD Zeena Zahir having resigned from the post earlier yesterday.

Zeena, who has been PSM MD since November 28 last year, confirmed her resignation to Mihaaru News but declined from sharing reasons behind her decision.

"I resigned at 4.30 pm this afternoon. That is all I can say," Zeena told Mihaaru.

Saeed earlier served as the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education. He was appointed to this position on November 9, 2017, during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen. However, from January to April 2019, Saeed was on suspension, followed by his dismissal in April. Civil Service Commission took these measures against Saeed at the time stating that he had acted against laws and regulations towards ministry staff during the 2018 presidential election.

As of 2019, he was one of the longest serving employees of the ministry.
