Distribution of Grains Received as Zakat

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has initiated the distribution process for the grains received as 'Fitr Zakat' during this fasting month.

Maldives Zakat House, under the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, announced that the distribution of grains received as zakat commenced yesterday and will continue until today at the Aminiya School hall.

Zakat House further stated that zakat would be distributed only to those registered as poor and needy individuals in the city.

The timings for the distribution of fitr zakat are as follows:

From 11:00 hrs to 15:30 hrs today and again from 20:30 hrs to 22:30 hrs.

The distribution of the crop received as 'Fitr Zakat' is currently underway. Within the first 20 days of this fasting month, MVR 4.5 million has been received as zakat.

Until Saturday, fitr zakat was also accepted online. Zakat payments can be made through Bandeyri Pay until the last day of the fasting month.

Zakat is also being accepted at the Islamic Centre hall from 11:00 hrs to 14:00 hrs every day except Friday and Saturday.
