VP Faisal opens 'Environment through Maldivian history' photo exhibition

Vice President Faisal Naseem, on occasion of World Environment Day, June 5, opened the photo exhibition 'Thaareekh ge therein thimaaveshi', loosely translating to 'Environment through Maldivian history' photo exhibition, on Tuesday at the National Art Gallery.

During the ceremony, Vice President Faisal urged citizens to revive Maldivian culture and heritage, and advise people to assist in prolonging and sustaining the natural beauty of the country.

In addition to the Vice President, Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage Yumna Maumoon, Director General of the National Archives of Maldives Imad Mohamed, and Director General of the Ministry of Environment's Environment Department, Mohamed Zahir, gave speeches during the inauguration ceremony.

Following the exhibition opening, a presentation was conducted by the Research Analyst of the Ministry of Culture Alaa Didi, at the convention hall in the Islamic Centre.
