Ooredoo Maldives offers to pay rent in Ramadan promo

Telecom giant Ooredoo Maldives has launched its annual promotion for the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, including a rental free apartment for one year.

Speaking at the press conference to discuss Ooredoo’s newly introduced services for Ramadan, the company’s assistant manager Noora Ibrahim Zahir said  that this year’s promotion also offers a large variety of prizes for customers.

The grand prize of Ooredoo’s ongoing “Refer and Win” promotion is a rental free apartment for one year. Noora stated that the customer who refers Ooredoo and the newly joined customer can both participate in the promotion, which also offers free data up to 3GB. Interested customers can participate by messaging “Refer” to 5959. The promotion lasts until this August.

The lucky draw for the grand winner will be held in September.

Ooredoo also introduced its “Gift a Data Pack” service. Customers can gift a data pack to another Ooredoo number by dialling *929#, choosing “Ooredoo Data Packs” and “Gift Data”.

Customers to activate data packages via the main Ooredoo application will also receive an additional 100 percent of the amount purchased. Ooredoo added that customers that recharge above MVR 100 will receive 25 percent bonus credits during Ramadan. Additionally, the company is offering special discount rates for international calls to India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Saudi Arabia.

Free services for the month of Ramadan include receiving prayer times, and Quran translations and madhaha (religious songs) on Reethi Tunes. Customers can also access religious advice and recipes via SMS. Ooredoo also offers payment of Zakat al-Fitr (charity given to the poor in Ramadan) free of charge by dialling *909#.
