Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Saturday, held deliberations with the leaders of the four parties constituting the ruling coalition, at the President's Office.

As part of his two-day state trip to Maldives, PM Modi met Jumhooree Party (JP) leader and Maamigili MP Qasim Ibrahim, Adhaalath Party leader and Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla, as well as former president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, the head of the Maumoon Reform Movement (MRM).

PM Modi met the president of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed while visiting the parliament.

The issues discussed during the meetings are yet to be revealed. The discussions were announced in the joint statement released following PM Modi's official talks with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

The Indian Prime Minister arrived in Maldives on his first state following his re-election, on Saturday afternoon. The governments of Maldives and India held high-level official talks and signed six agreements in five sectors during the visit. The prime minister also delivered a special address at the Maldivian parliament, after which he attended a banquet hosted by President Solih in his honour.

PM Modi first visited Maldives in November 2018 to attend President Solih's inauguration. However, the visit was brief as Modi departed shortly after the ceremony.
