Local heart health non-profit organisation 'Tiny Hearts of Maldives' on Tuesday scheduled the pilot of its School Corridor Activity Circuit to be launched on September 29, as part of World Heart Day celebrations.
Aiming to further student engagement, the pilot programme would be held at Ghaazee School in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale' with the collaboration of the Ministry of Education.
The itinerary for the School Corridor Activity Circuit begins with Minister of Education Dr Aishath Ali and top ministry officials' arrivals scheduled for 0850 hours.
According to Tiny Hearts, the event will be inaugurated at 0900 hours on Sunday morning by First Lady Fazna Ahmed, shortly followed by the commencement of program activities.
The event is set to conclude with a press conference where details about pilot activity and World Heart Day celebrations would be disclosed.
Tiny Hearts Maldives invites all interested parties to attend and for students to partake in their pilot program.
The NGO was established in July 2009, in the memory of Keyaan, the firstborn of the organization's founders Ali Muaz and Fathimath Hishmath Faiz. He was born with a congenital heart condition that eventually led to his untimely passing at the mere age of two and a half months.
On September 17, 2017, Tiny Hearts was elected a member of the Geneva-based World Heart Federation, which is a global NGO committed to uniting its members in the fight against heart disease and stroke, with a focus on low-and-middle-income countries.
