A woman died on Sunday after suffering major injuries in an accident in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale.
Police spokesperson said the 28 year old woman died while being treated at the state run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in capital Male.
The accident occured around 11.30pm on Saturday in Hulhumale when a car collided with a car.
Police said the car had hit the motorbike from behind.
The woman was the passenger while the 35 year old man riding the bike had also suffered serious injuries.
IGMh spokesperson Zeenath Ali Habeeb confirmed the woman's death but refused to comment on the extent of her injuries.
Police are investigating the accident.
